Today was the travel day! We woke up at 4am and headed to the Tampa airport. The drive was non eventful and we made it to our gate around 2 hours early (which is always nice.) Once we arrived in Mexico City we had another 4 hours to wait, so we found some food (Burger King and Subway) and walked around, charged our phones, and tried to sleep. The flight to La Paz weirdly had us all assigned to window seats, one right after the other in rows 28-31. It was nice that we all got to see the beautiful coastline come into view though!

We were told DiDi (their version of uber) didn’t do airport pickups but I used the app and scheduled a ride with no problem! Our driver took us the 20 or so minutes into town and dropped us right off at our Airbnb.

Our place is really cute. It has two bedrooms, a huge kitchen, and a really nice outdoor patio with lights. We can see the famous Malecon strip and the Inlet of La Paz.

After unpacking and getting settled, we headed down to the Malecon boardwalk area for some dinner and supplies (like bottled water) for our stay. We found a sweet little sushi place that had amazing rolls and rice bowls (Kaia had pizza from next door) and stocked up on water and yogurt for the next day.

Exhausted, we headed straight back to our place for bed! The huge travel day + the time zone change zapped our energy. It was a little hard to get to sleep with the “club” pulsing music and the room not getting really dark, but once we did it was a solid sleep!
